Well our weather is cold, windy and wet.  Not had many bright spells either.  How I wish I could hibernate:)
Walking Polly this morning we got soaked and then to add insult to injury it hailed.
Polly has been slightly lame these past few days.  I think she had bruised her paw, as I couldn't find anything wrong, but on her early walk she'd limp slightly, especially if we were walking on gravel.  She seemed ok this morning, so hopefully whatever it was has gone now.

I was pleased to find a very reasonable insurance at TescoPet Insurance.  I have chosen their Accident & Injury only cover.  One good thing with this is you get the third party liability cover.  The premium is less than £6 a month.
Well I hope your week is going well.  No matter what else you do, remember to hug your hounds.

I hope you are all having a good weekend.  To say it is wild here, is an understatement.  Very heavy rain and gale force winds.  Loads of leave and twigs about, but also some larger branches down.  So windy I had to steady myself a couple of times whilst out with Polly, as I thought I was going over.  Needless to say we weren't out for long:)
I have added a few photos to my PurplePoppy Crafting page if you'd like a look.
Here's Polly at dad's.

For Maggie fans, here are a few of her.

Here's my hussy;)

Well I hope the coming week goes well for you.  Remember to hug your hounds.

Sunday, 18 November 2012

Well I hope you are having a good weekend.  We've had mixed weather here during the past week.  This first photos was my dad's garden on Thursday.  It was actually really misty, but I took this photo during a sunny spell.
This photo I took this morning from my living room window.  We had a frost and it's cold, but it is so nice to see the sun.

I bought this red Cyclamen last week.  It came in the nice waxed pot.

Here's one of my Christmas Cactus, which is still blooming well.

This is a red Christmas Cactus I bought a few weeks ago.

Here's Maggie getting a treat.

Here she's trying the big brown pleading eyes trick to try and get another treat:)

Whilst the above was going on, this is what Polly was doing.

Well you all take care and remember to give your hounds a good hug.

Well a very misty start here and there's a dampness in the air.
Welcome to our new Follower.  Hopefully you will enjoy popping in.
I have some more photos on myPurplePoppy Crafting page.
Polly spent the day with my dad yesterday, as I had a hospital appointment.  When we got home yesterday evening, she kept doing a very low whine.   She's been doing it this morning as well, but now in her bed and I have covered her with a blanket and she's ok.  Wondering if she is missing Maggie.  Oh well we are going over today.
Tomorrow I have a crafting day with my friend.  Polly get's on fine with her GS, but there may also be four collies, so it will be interesting to see how Polly is.
Hope your week is going ok and you are looking forward to the weekend.  Remember to hug your hound.

Hope you have a nice weekend ahead.  It's chucking it down here, so Polly and I got soaked on our walk.
I have added some photos to my PurplePoppy Crafting page, if anyone would like a look.
I took these photos a few days ago.  It still amazes me how Greys seem to be able to sleep in what look like very uncomfortable positions.
Although her eyes are open, she was actually asleep.

Polly loves having her chin scratched.  Yet something else Song never liked.

At dad's.  She loves the old soft bed that I leave at dad's.

Couldn't resist this one of Maggie:)

Well you all take care.  Give your hounds an extra long hug.

I have added some recent cards to my PurplePoppy Crafting page, if anyone would like a look.

Polly and I would like to welcome our newest Follower.  We hope you enjoy popping in.

This was taken on Halloween.  What's with the eyes:)

Well would you believe it, Polly likes to sit.
Song rarely did it.
I often turn round and there is Polly sitting.  Shame about the glowing eyes:)

Here's my dad's Staffie Maggie doing her roaching.  She only really does it to get her tummy tickled:)
Polly often lays so her nose is under her blanket.

See here how she has managed to get her blanket under her front leg, but over her back ones:)
Some times she get's all tied up in her bedding and then it's down to her slave me to sort her out:)

Some of you might find the info on this site interesting.  This is a particular article about the benefits of owning a pet.

I definitely benefit from having a dog.  Not only does it mean I have to get up each morning, but I go for a walk (not so good when it is tipping it down:)) and know I have unconditional love.

What do you think are the benefits of having your hound/s?

I was recently sent a free copy of this book to review.

This is the story of James the dog told by himself. His heart-warming story will resonate with readers, who identify with many of the feelings James shares. Like when James is sad or scared, or feeling brave, even when he's lost and definitely when he's naughty. Thankfully, his sad tales end happily, as he realises the most important thing of all: his family loves him, faults and all, just as he loves them. It's perfect for sharing with young children.

I thought it was delightful, but a shame it was so short.  I asked if I could offer the book as a prize on my blog and they have very kindly said I could.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning the book, is to put a bit on your blog about the Animal Health Trust's  (AHT) research into canine cancers.  Also that I have set up a Just Giving button on my blog to raise funds for the research and it is in memory of Song.

Once you have done that, please leave a post here to say you have.  Your name will then go into a bowl and I will pull out a winner on 1st December.

Good luck.
