You may have read my post about my friend Carole's Greyhound Lunar, who has been very unwell on and off since before Christmas.

She finally got a diagnosis of Pancreatitis and they thought she'd recover.  Sadly Lunar's body just couldn't take any more and Carole made the very hard decision to let her cross to The Bridge.

We all know the over whelming sadness that's felt when we have to let one of our fur babies go.

Please give your hound/s an extra long hug tonight.

Run free beautiful Lunar and say hello to my Song.

I have put some recent cards on my PurplePoppy Crafting page.

Not sure which, is any of these photos I have already put up, swo apologies if you have seen one or two before.

Polly is completely over her spaying and teeth cleaning.  The vet commented on just how good her teeth were, so she only need a slight clean.  So glad it was all done at the same time as the spay.  She was signed off from the vets on Friday.  She couldn't get out there quick enough:)

White Bunny probably not a good idea, but she loves it.

Before anyone says anything, the bed is plenty big enough:)

Polly's Sid the Sloth (from Ice Age) impersonation:)

Look at the neat hair trim the vet nurse did.

Obviously no tummy pain

An even better impersonation of Sid the Sloth:)

Think she's getting the hang of Sid:)

Looks uncomfortable, but we know what Greys are like.

A bit of tlc from me with the soft blanket.

As I said earlier, the bed is plenty big enough:)

Roaching fine, but what about the neck position?

I was given this site because I asked the question, do I need Kennel Cough vaccine?  What I have read so far I have found astonishing, not just on Kennel Cough but other vaccinations and even microchipping.

I think all dog owners should at least check this site out.  You make up your own mind.

Well my friend now has a diagnosis of Pancreatitis in her Greyhound Lunar.  At least with this diagnosis they can begin to treat her and hopefully she will completely recover.

Please join me in sending healing positive thoughts and huge gentle hugs to (((Lunar)))'

Please give your hound/s an extra long hug tonight.  Cherish every minute you have with them.

Can anyone suggest what this might be.  My friend is so worried.

Thanks Sue .can you ask those you know with greys if they have heard of anything like this as you have a wide lot of facebook friends and more with greys Her temp is still high and she is now unsteady on her back legs as well and her appitite is falling even though we have the top food for her (i actually bought large breed puppy food wet and dry to build her up )the main thing is cooling her down at the moment so we are keeping a wet towel between her legs and fans and airconditioning on her absolutely baffled other than that ...any advice bring it on !!! Thanks Sue ,hugs to Polly xxx

Hope you are all having a nice weekend and those with snow are keeping safe and warm. Very icy here and more snow is forecast for today, tomorrow and Tuesday. We have a bitter wind so temps really down.

We'd like to welcome out new Follower.  Hope you enjoy our blog.

This photo shows Polly's scar. Very neat job.

Two photo's of Polly in her bed. Looks uncomfortable to me:)

Wednesday, 16 January 2013

Well late yesterday afternoon and then through the evening Polly started to eat a little. This also meant I got some pain killer into her. She had a good night and this morning has eaten all her beaky, so again she's got some pain killer in her. We have lethal conditions under foot here, so doubt I will walk her today, which the vet said was fine to leave it for a few days. The vet said when Polly felt she wanted to go further she'd soon let me know.

I took this photo yesterday evening. You can't tell, but she is cuddling her white bunny:)

You all take care if you have to go out and have these conditions.

Just wanted to let you all know Polly is home from the vets. She's been spayed and had her teeth cleaned. She is feeling very sorry for herself. Thanks for all the good wishes, all were very much appreciated. This is a photo I took the other day:)

I have added some photos to my PurplePoppy Crafting page.

I hope this week has been a good one for you and you are looking forward to the weekend. Snow is forecast for here on Sunday. Just hoping it won't be much. I like the look of it, but hate going out in it. Unfortunately, Polly is slightly lame again. I am sure it is an old racing injury. It occurs after she's had some zoomies. I am beginning to worry about Monday, as Polly goes in to be spayed. I haven't planned anything for the week, so I can be here with her and she can take it easy and heal up.

Hope you have a fab weekend. Remember to hug your hound:)

Polly and I hope the New Year has started well for all our blogging friends. Unfortunately I succumbed to a stomach bug this week and when I was just getting over that I went down with a cold. Cold is almost gone, although I still feel rather achy and hot and bothered.

Weather has been changeable. Dreary here today with a dampness in the air. Not cold though.

Thought I'd tidy up my photos, so here are some I took towards the end of last year.

Polly proving Greys can sleep in the most uncomfortable positions:)
