I'd like to introduce you to Albert, known as Albe.  He will be dad's new dog.  We collect him on Monday.

The photo makes him look chunky, which he isn't.  Also he isn't that long in the body.

The home check was done yesterday and the lady couldn't stop praising dad's very large well fenced in garden and said it would be suitable for any dog:)

He is a StaffieX and around 10.  He's a stray so they don't know anything about him.  Although they named him Albert, the kennel staff call him Albe, so we will stick with that.

I took dad to see him Tuesday and he and Polly said hello and were fine after an initial couple of little growls from Polly.

More photos/videos to follow once he is home with us.

Yesterday saw the passing of Blueberry to the Bridge due to osteosarcoma.  Blueberry is Bunny, Morgan and Kuster's sister and beloved Greyhound of Carrie and her hubby.

Blue enriched not only their lives, but those of us who were lucky enough to go onto Carrie's blog.

The Bridge is a wonderful place for her to wait for her family.  Her mother Lilac will have met her and all our beloved dogs will have made sure she was ok.

Run free and without pain beautiful Blue.

Well after the sad loss of Maggie on Wednesday, the days have rolled by.  Can honestly say I have thought of the old girl often.  When I took Polly over to dad's on Thursday, she didn't seem to realise Maggie wasn't there.  However yesterday she seemed to be looking for her.  She wasn't happy to go outside unless dad or I were with her and she spent most of the time in her bed, even though dad and I were sitting out in the garden.

I started Polly on a homeopathic corn remedy treatment Wednesday.  It consists of two very tiny tablets (about the size of  pin head).  One is given daily for 6 days and the other weekly for 6 weeks.  There is also little bottles of oil, which you apply 2-3 drops to the pads three times a day.  The last application should be before turning in and the paw covered.  I tried taping socks on Polly, but each morning they have been off, so not sure how long they are actually staying on.  I do think the corns are lifting, but know it can take a while for them to be gone.

Here are some recent photos and also two videos.

I hope you are having a fab weekend.

Remember to hug your hound/s.

PS..... I have added some photos to my PurplePoppy Crafting page.

Howl At The Moon For Maggie

Sadly I had to take my dad's old Staffy Maggie to be pts this afternoon.  She was such a perfect dog for my dad and whilst she wasn't mine, I loved her like she was.  Dad took her on, even though she was already 10+ and showing her age, but they've had almost three perfect years together.

Her passing was very quick and peaceful and I know she will have been greeted by my Poppy and of course beautiful Song, so she will be well taken care of at The Bridge.

We ask you to give a howl to the moon tonight to let her know she's missed.

A beautiful girl that definitely will never be forgotten.

Check out Hazel's post over at Class A Greyhounds...RVing with the big dogs.  She's done a fab post about her Power's pedigree and how my Polly is related to him.

To head on over just click on the blog in my Dog Blogs list on the right.

Here's Polly and Power.  See how alike they are.

I know Brett Lee, who was Polly's dad was also Power's granddad.  Brett Lee was an Australian champion and sired a lot of dogs.  Here he is.  He died 29th August, 2010.  His sperm would cost £4,800.

Very wet during the night here, but sunny and dry at the moment.  They are forecasting more rain today though.

I took these two the other day.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

Don't forget to hug your hound/s.

Hope your week has started off well.  Been mainly overcast and chilly here.  Really hoping we soon get a very long warm and sunny spell.

I have added some photos to my PurplePoppy Crafting page.

Here's Polly cuddling her sausage dog stuffie at dad's.

Well you all take care.

Well we have another sunny day here, although the wind still has a nip to it.  Just got back from walking Polly up the farm track.  Hoping her boots will come today, as she was limping from the corn by the time we headed back along the pavement.

I have added some photos on my PurplePoppy Crafting page.

Noticed yesterday my Cactus if flowering.  Only got four buds, one of which is now open, but hopefully more will come.

Here's a video I took yesterday at dad's.

Hope you are enjoying the weekend.  Yesterday remained cloudy till late afternoon.  This morning has already been wall to wall sunshine, although the air has a nip to it.

I was over at my dad's yesterday, but not nice enough to sit out.  Polly and Maggie had several wanders round the garden, but neither wanted to lay out.

Here are a couple of photos I took yesterday.

Maggie fast asleep.

Polly wanting out

Polly snug as a bug.

My African Violets.  It's one plant I seem to have the knack of NOT killing:)
