Happy New Year 2014

Polly and I would like to wish all our blogging friends and their fur babies a very Happy and Healthy New Year.

Saturday, 28 December 2013

Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the festive time.

Here's a photo of Polly I took in dad's garden today.  As she often does, she moved just as the camera clicked:)

Here's Polly all snuggled up with her new Santa squeaky.

You all take care and don't forget to hug your hound/s.

Polly and I wanted to wish all our blogging friends a very Happy Christmas.

Thursday, 19 December 2013

I hope you are all having a good week and looking forward to the weekend.  I am still battling the bug.  Had it a week now, but it feels like a month.  Not had a bug make me feel so ill for a very long time.

Polly is limping.  Not sure if it's the start of another corn, or an old racing injury playing up in the cold damp weather.  I am putting stuff on her pads in case it is a corn.  Once I am better I will take her to the vet's if she's still limping.  Certainly isn't bothering her too much, as she still wants to go for a walk, still tries to do zoomies in my flat and still up for a game with her stuffies.

Well you all take care.  Go hug your hound/s.

I hope you have all had a good week and have something nice planned for this weekend.

My dad has very kindly passed his chesty cough/cold onto me, so I am rather rough at the moment.  I hope you are all keeping clear of the bugs.

Polly has a slight limp, which seems to come and go.  Despite it, this morning she wanted to go further, so I let her lead the way:)

Here's Albe fast asleep last Thursday at dad's.

I can always depend on Polly for the photo that makes me smile:)

Don't forget to hug your hound/s.

NB...Please put the music from Wikplayer (top of blog page) into pause mode, so you can listen to the sound on this video.

Well as I've been asked how Albe is doing, I took my camera to dad's yesterday.

Here he is.  He has a new bed in the living room, so this old one is used in the kitchen when he's left alone.  Dad usually moves it into the conservatory, but I don't mind it being in the kitchen, as at least I know where Albe is.  He has a tendency to be right behind you as you turn round with a hot pan in your hand:)

Polly doesn't like that she can't go zoomies in the garden.  It's just too wet.  She's even tried doing zoomies in the flat:)

Just gave her fresh bedding.  She watched me hang her stuffies on the airer, but I told her she couldn't have them.  She got in her bed, gave two almighty sighs and then moaned:)

Well I hope you are all having a good weekend.

Remember to hug your hound/s.

Well we have survived, but a lot of people had to be evacuated from various places along the east coast.  Here they told people the sea side of the earth bank to leave their homes, but not everybody did.  In Hunstanton (where my dad lives), they told people to leave as well and those who didn't have anywhere to go went to the community Centre, which they set up with make shift beds and WRVS handed out food and drinks.  People are being told that the high tide this morning and then again tonight will mean they can't go back till tomorrow morning.

A lot of the emergency shelters wouldn't accept animals, although a few did set up a separate section with people and their pets.  I certainly wouldn't want to evacuate and leave Polly here, so I can understand why people decided to stay.

This photo of of King's Lynn Custom House.  It shouldn't have water round it.

These were emergency people checking houses in a village further round the coast.

This was King's Lynn.

Thids map shows all the places that were effected and it's a very large area.

This is on the sea front at Hunstanton.

This was a village just up from mine.

Down the sea front here.

Not sure where this one was taken, but it is on the East coast.

This was building damage during the high winds in King's Lynn.

Think things could have been a lot worse here.  Other areas, especially Scotland were hit much harder.

It all makes you realise just how small we are compared to Mother Nature.

I think Polly has the right idea today.  We have flood warnings due to high winds causing tidal surges later at high tide and then again in the morning.  I've not heard the flood sirens yet, but expect they will go off.  There is a 8' bank between the sea and the village, so we should be ok.

Hope you are all having a good week.  Keep safe and don't forget to hug your hound/s.

Hope you have all had a good week and a relaxing weekend.

Good frost this morning and even icy patches on the paths.

Can't believe it's three weeks Wednesday to you know what:)

I got a new collar from MeggieMoo for Polly.

She also got a new jumper from HotterDog.  It's actually a red jumper, so not sure why it is coming out pinker than it is.

Yesterday whilst doing zoomies in dad's garden, she suffered a small puncture wound to her paw.  It's right between the pads.  I am keeping it clean and putting Aloe gel on it.  My insurance will cover it as it's an injury, so will go to the vets if it's not a lot better tomorrow.

Well I hope the week ahead is a good one for you all.

Don't forget to hug your hound/s.
