WOYWW 24th September

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk

Well I have just two cards this week.  I made both using freebies from Papercraft Essentials magazine, Issue 109.  I usually only buy a crafting magazine if the freebies are worth it:)

The pink and blue pins are from my own stash.

The blue and green pins are again from my stash.

I hope you all have a lovely WOYWW.

  1. Oh Sue, sorry, I didn't mean to put you on edge about the advertising thing...your post is fine, interesting and enabling..advertising is when you don't join in until your etsy shop is full of new stuff and you link to it, or until your products are being shown on TV coincidentally the same week....it's why, you not, that despite having lots of Stampin Up! gals on WOYWW, they don't take the opportunity to push the prods. It's all exposure, after all!
Ayway..really like the papers, you've made a couple of very inspired cards with them. I swear Shopkeeper Gal sells more magazines if she makes a sample with the freebies, often they really are very good arent they.

  4. Gorgeous cards, I agree the freebies with a magazine have to make it worth the spend. A lot of them don't. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #25 xxx

  12. Julia, That's fine, just didn't want to break any rules:) Most of the mags I look at are around £4.99 and often have freebies worth that alone. I don't buy so many even with good freebies now, as i have my car to keep on the road:)

Robyn, I use to have none for months, then every one seemed to have good freebies:)

Margaret, Thank you. There are so many crafting magazines now.

Shaz, Thank you. There was one magazine I use to buy most months, but it's quality went down, so wasn't worth the higher price.

Bev, Thank you. Out of the two it is my favourite as well:)

Zsuzsa, Thank you. They aren't like my normal cards, so it was nice to try something different.

Darnell, I buy the various pins off sellers on eBay. They are reasonably cheap and I like the way they just add that little something. You can get pins with flowers, hearts, teardrops and round heads in various colours.

Chris, Glad you liked that one. Yes, I got it:) LOL

Hazel, Most of the crafting mags have freebies of some sort. They have to compete with each other, so the freebies tend to be getting much better.

    Helen, Thank you.

Hazel, Thank you for stopping by.

  15. I must say I do watch out now for good freebies. I have been quite disappointed recently by the contents of many magazines.
Hope you have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x 36

  16. They're both beautiful!

You know, if you made Greyhound cards, you could make a killing! All of your cards are so lovely!

  17. Gabriele, Thanks for commenting twice:)

Angela, I find the magazines are often similar and if you have them often enough, they get so they are doing the same thing again.

houndstooth, Thank you for your very kind comments. I am always on the lookout for a Greyhound stamp, but not found one yet.

  18. Sue, both cards are so lovely. These are pretty papers and loving that they were free!
Thank you so much for the beautiful cards and fun enclosures in the cards for my sister. We have English roots, so was fun to see the postcard and other literature you enclosed, so very kind of you. Your thoughts and prayers were very much appreciated.

My niece and her family have had three rescured Greyhounds over the years, They were such gentle souls.
Thanks again for all you did.

    Hugs
    Sue

  19. Sue, Thank you.

I was only too happy to send to Edith. If for just one second it put a smile on her face it was worth it.

You are right about Greyhounds being gentle souls.

  20. Love these papers, and the very vintage look they gave on these 2 very pretty cards. Liked your placement of the shapes on each card, and the pretty stick pins. I've not found any freebies in USA magazines, but recently bought 2 Tattered Lace magazines, that are supposed to have some free dies. Haven't had time to look at them as yet! Happy wkend, and TFS. Pats to Miss Polly and hope both of you are enjoying a wonderful day. Hugs

  21. MaryH, Thank you for your kind comments. Here the magazines seem to have to give freebies to get people buying them.

Hope you like the dies in your mags.

Polly says thanks for the pats and she's sending you hugs (((MaryH))).
