WOYWW 29th July

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk

Here is a  card I made for a Swap.  The theme was 'Happiness'.  Friends make me happy:)

Another Swap card.  The Swap had to have green on it.

A card for a Swap where the theme was Wildlife.

This is a card I made for my nephews birthday.

Well I hope you all have a lovely WOYWW.

I thought I'd show you where I have been walking Polly, now I can drive to the beach.

The photos don't show that there are very big steep concrete steps down to the beach (part of the sea defences), so I couldn't get down on the sand.

The first morning we walked to the right along the top of the concrete sea defences.

This view shows the beach to the left.  Instead of the steep steps it just has a very steep angled run of concrete.  The second morning I walked along the back of the dunes on a sandy path and then managed to get up and over the dunes and onto the beach.

Polly got her feet wet, but didn't seemed bothered either way:)

The beach has shingle and lots of small shells, which can be sharp.

We have another beach (well it's just a continuation of this one), which I can drive to that has a large earthen bank ( part of the sea defences), which you can walk along.  There's also a little nature reserve on the inland side, which you can walk through as well.  I'll definitely be going out there at some point.

Polly said I had to put a photo of her in todays post, as the last two posts didn't have one:)

Here she is investigating a smell in dad's garden.

Well I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Don't forget to hug your hound/s.

I would like to introduce you to my new baby called Kermit.

Kermit, as it's green and although you can't see it in this shot, it has a pink piggy on the aerial, ie...Miss Piggy:)

I've not had a car since January 1994.  I am so glad to have my own wheels:)

Hope you are having a fab week.

WOYWW 16th July

Here's a little cardboard box that I covered with Washi Tape.

This is what I use it for.

I decided a second band of the flowered Washi Tape would look better.

It stands on this Lazy Susan I got the other week at The Range.

Hope you all have a lovely WOYWW.

Sunday, 13 July 2014

We have been having wetter weather, although the temps have stayed in the 20s.  Some days the humidity has been high.  It's dismal, damp and very humid here this morning, but it is trying to brighten up.

As you can see Polly has already had a hard day:)  As soon as we get back from our walk, she has her breakfast and then off to bed she goes.  It's alright for some:)

I now have three Flaming Katie's (Kalanchoes).  They are actually all different, but the little one on the right is showing the same as the big one on the left.  It's actually lighter.  I might get an Orange and a Yellow one next week.  They'd go nice in my kitchen.

This is my Calla Lily that I got last year.  I cut it all back in December and this is all the new growth.  Hoping to see some flowers soon.  This one has deep Purple flowers.

Well I hope you are all having a lovely weekend and the week ahead is a good one for you.

Remember to hug your hound/s.

Hope you all have a fab WOYWW.

Albe 2nd July, 2013 - 5th July, 2014

It is with a very sad heart that I have to tell you my dad's old dog Albe had to be put to sleep this afternoon.

I was over at dad’s today.  It wasn’t till I got there that dad mentioned Albe had some kind of fit in the night and was banging around trying to get out of the kitchen.  Dad sat up with him from 1pm and obviously hardly slept at all.  He said he calmed down around 5am.
During the day Albe was very sleepy, but happily went outside with Polly.
Just as I was getting my trainers on so dad could bring me and Polly home, Albe went into a very violent fit.  I’ve never seen anything like it.  I held him as best I could, as I was afraid he’d hurt himself.  Twice he went limp and I thought he’d died, but he would then gasp and go into another fit.  It lasted over 20 minutes.  When the fitting stopped, it was like he was blind and ran into the corner of the room and then ran the other way right into the patio door.  I managed to get him and lead him outside, but he was obviously very disorientated.  I let Polly out and she followed him as he wandered round and round.
I phoned the vets and it went to the emergency number.  Spoke with vet who said it sounded worse than an epileptic fit.  I asked if we could bring him down to the surgery, so she met us there.  Dad drove and I sat in the back holding Albe.  He just kept moving and was obviously very frightened.  When we got there dad stayed in the car and I led him in.  The vet said she could see how bad he still was, which was actually 90% better than when he was fitting.  We discussed various things, but she said considering his age, it would be kinder to put him to sleep.  I stayed with him until he had gone to The Bridge.
Dad got Albe on 2nd July 2013.  His previous old girl Maggie had to be pts after he’d only had her about 18 months.  Albe was a wonderful old lad and kept my dad company.

Dad, Polly and I will miss you.

Run free, till it's time for us to fetch you.

WOYWW 2nd July

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk

Carrying on from last weeks WOYWW post, here are two of the boxes with the ribbons in.

I was talking with my dad and said I could do with a label thingy.  He disappeared into the garage and came back with one and a load of tape.  So here are the boxes labeled up.  There's actually three boxes, but I hadn't realised I'd only photographed two.

I have one empty box, so of course I'll have to buy some more ribbons:)  I am hoping to go to The Range Thursday after a hospital appointment, so will see what I  can find.  I have loads of ribbons, not just in these boxes, but hey I know you'll agree we can never have enough:)

Hope you have a fab WOYWW.
