Just A Dog

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or "that's a lot of money for just a dog."
They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent,
or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by
"just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch
of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you probably understand
phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship,
trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience
that make me a better person.
Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look
longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog"
but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,
the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts
away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that its' not "just a dog"
but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being
"just a man" or "just a woman."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog,"
just smile,
because they "just don't understand."

WOYWW 20th May

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog

Well it may look busy, but nothing is happening here.  My mojo has gone on a break.  Hopefully it'll be back soon now I have these.

The crafting magazine has the free oriental clear stamps.

This caught my eye.  Says it's exclusive to Tesco, but they had another one that didn't.  This one has 21 designs and cost £5.99.  The others were smaller, but £3.99.  The next one of these is on issue 2nd June and is animals.  I'll be looking out for that.

Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 13th May

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog

This is the table I use as an extension to my desk.  The crafting magazine is there to remind me the next issue out has some lovely free oriental stamps.

Here are some of the cards I showed you previously, but now they have a bit to them.  They still need more, so maybe they'll be done for next week.

Happy WOYWW.

I didn't have anything to blog about today, but then I had visitors outside my window.

She had 9 ducklings the other day, but I could only see five today.  She would have been better to have her ducklings near the large pond.  Much safer there from cars, grates, cats, etc.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

WOYWW 6th May

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog

This week I have four Toppers with the theme Men's Hobbies.

At first I was going to put Washi tape on all of them.

Then I decided these two were fine with the Washi tape.

Here you can see the cycling topper has a ribbon and the tennis topper has blue rickrack.

Hope you all have a happy WOYWW.

My Girls

Well it is a very dismal and wet day here.  Even the wind has picked up, making it colder.  We were fooled into a false sense of summer to come with the recent sunny and warmer weather.  Now we are hoping this spell of dismal weather will improve and keep improving.

Thought I'd add the various photos I've taken of my girls.  Sorry if I have posted any before.  I forget which ones I have done.

Polly in one of the XXL dog beds in my living room.  I assure you it is huge, but for some reason Polly likes to hang out of it.

The girls in their PJ's.  I don't have heating on very high in my bedroom, so they still need them.  I also put a SnuggleSafe in each bed in my bedroom, so they are nice and cosy.

Polly wearing her best collar.  Terrible photo as Polly usually doesn't stand still.  It's a black collar with different coloured paw prints.

Honey with her best collar.  She didn't want to move from her bed for the photo.  Even the bribery of treats wouldn't get her to budge.

Honey asleep.

Polly roaching.

Well we hope you are having a nice weekend.

Now go and hug your dog/s.
