Visitors

I didn't have anything to blog about today, but then I had visitors outside my window.

She had 9 ducklings the other day, but I could only see five today.  She would have been better to have her ducklings near the large pond.  Much safer there from cars, grates, cats, etc.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

  1. What cute visitors you had popping by. Does this excite the girls? Your lawn looks so lush & green. We did indeed enjoy some porch sitting time, especially this afternoon. It was hot, without the wonderful breeze of yesterday. We had a thunderstorm move in, but only noise. However we felt it prudent to get out of a swing suspended with metal chains, and come inside. We shared our leftovers from a Sat. nite Mexican dinner. Now I'm not wanting to go out for Mom's day dinner, which was promised. By 9pm, I'll be starving! Happy wk ahead. Pats to the puppies. Hugs

  4. MaryH, The girls couldn't see them, but when we have come across ducks and ducklings neither are bothered.

The grass and flowers beds are communal. Gardeners come once a week to mow the grass and tidy the beds.

Glad you enjoyed sitting out, but wise to head inside when the storm arrived.

Hope you enjoyed your Mothers Day meal.

Girls say thanks for the pats and they send hugs back to you.

Hazel, They are Mallards. Even up the village pond there are mainly Mallards, with the odd Shoveler and a couple of pairs of Geese.

Bev, Trouble is people feed them, so they stay. There's usually a couple of females with ducklings in Tesco's car park. I've seen people pull up in their cars and get out bread and seeds.

Hope your week is a good one.

  5. What sweet visitors! They know where to go to be safe and sound, right? I think they might also enjoy the little white daisies around them, too! Darling photos, Sue! Wishes for a week full of love to you and yours. xo

  8. April, Neither of my girls take much notice of the ducks or ducklings. It's cats and bunnies that get them excited.
