Beauty Sleep

Firstly,  sorry there isn't any music at the moment.  Despite downloading tracks to Wikiplayer, there's no sound.  Hope to sort it soon.

Well we have been having a mixture of sunshine and wet weather.  Also temps have been going up and down from the low 20s to the high 20s.  Today has started sunny, but we have a cold wind.  Took the girls to the seafront and walked along the dunes.  No bunnies, so Honey was disappointed.

We saw a few dogs and as normal Polly had to bark at them, to let them now she is such a vicious dog they'd best leave her alone.  So wish I could get her out of this, but the off lead dog attacking her made her like this.  If I stand and talk to the person, she stops barking and just stands keeping an eye on the other dog.  We met a lady this morning with a small Staffie type that didn't react at all to Polly.  After only a few seconds Polly stopped barking and the lady wanted to know why she has yellow ribbons on her harness.  I explained it meant this dog needs space and why Polly was like it.  She was very understanding.

After their morning walk my girls do what Greyhounds do and went back to bed.

Finally synchronised roaching.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog

Not much going on, except for some Christmas stash.  I have now started to put the various bits together to make up the cards.

Hope you all have a happy WOYWW.

A Walk Along The Beach With Friends

A few weeks ago my friend Hilary came over with her Greyhound Milo and we set off for a walk along the cliffs.  I didn't have my camera, so Hilary took these photos for me.

Here's Honey and Polly as we pass the lighthouse heading off the cliffs to go down to the beach.

Honey showing us her Anubis ears.

This is  a Little Egret.  Never seen one on the beach before.

Think my girls were wondering were we were going, as I'd not taken them on this beach before.

Here are my girls.  Polly in the red harness, Honey in the blue one and Hilary's Milo in his purple harness.

Here I am with the trio.

A walk is so much nicer with friends along.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

WOYWW 19th August

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog

I keep seeing pens on offer.  This limited edition of Sharpies was £13, but reduced to £8 in Tescos.  I love Sharpies, but they are so inky they do bleed through the paper.

Hope you have a happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 12th August

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog

This is a card I made for a swap, where the theme was Peel Offs.  I put the flower peel offs on the backing card and then coloured them in.

Hope you have a happy WOYWW.

for nominating me to show you 8 photos that bring me happiness.

Well I had to trawl through my photos on Picasa, as once I have used the image I usually delete them or they get printed off and eventually go into a scrapbook.  Anyway I have found these ones.  Apologies for the blurred ones, but they photos of photos.

Like Sue my dogs give me happiness, so they feature heavily:)

Poppy my Jack Russell.  She sure was a big dog in a little body.  She use to love to play with a big football and has us in stitches with her antics.

Here is Song my first Greyhound.  A beautiful blue colour.  We enjoyed many lovely walks.

Maggie my dad's Staffie.  Dad had her when she was already at least 10 (they didn't know as she was a stray).  She was a talker and would jabber away at you and she had a lovely smile.

Honey my new girl that I got early January 2015.  She makes me happy with her antics and her smile.  She's been a good sister to Polly.

Song with Gypsy and my friend Julie.  Gypsy was young here.  She is now like a big shaggy bear:)  Her mum Julie is a lovely lady.  I call her my angel.

Polly (my second Greyhound) with dad's second dog Albe.  He was another old dog that dad took on. The two got on so well together and it was sad when Albe went to The Bridge.

My mum and dad on their 50th Wedding Anniversary.  My brother, sister-in-law and nephew all came to celebrate.  Sadly both have now passed on, but I think of them daily and have so many happy memories.

Kermit, my car.  When I got him there was a pink piggy on the aerial.  That vanished, so now there is a green frog.  Bought him July 2014 and have enjoyed every minute of the freedom he gives me.

I now nominate the following blogs, but there's no obligation to do it.

April at Scrapbooking and Cardmaking 101
Di at Di's Doodle Blog
Carrie at Tales and Tails
Midge at Catflap Cavalier
Bev at Fozzie.M

WOYWW 5th August

Not much happening on my desk, except for my new Spectrum Noir pens.  I've used Whispers and Le Plumes before, but as they were all coming to the end of their life, I looked around and as Spectrum Noir have good reviews and they were on offer, I got them.

A card waiting to be made up.

Happy WOYWW.

Saturday, 1 August 2015

Yesterday (Friday 31st July) I went to a Flower Festival at the church where my mum and dad were married in 1950.  It's a beautiful old church with lovely stained glass windows.  The best of which is the one at the back of the alter.  Sadly my photo doesn't do it justice, as it is stunning.

First my friend and I walked round the stalls and tents where people were selling various things.  No rain was forecast, but we thought it best to do the outside things first.  We then stopped at the refreshment tent for coffees.

The flower arrangements this year were based on books that had been made into films.  I couldn't take photos of all of the arrangements, as my camera batteries were running down.  I had charged them up overnight, but think they have got to the point where they won't hold the charge for long now.  I can't remember what all the arrangements were based on, but have included them as they are lovely arrangements.

As you went into the church they had this arrangement round the door.  It is the Yellow Brick Road from The Wizard Of Oz.

Treasure Ireland (You can't see them in this photo, but there were gold coins and jewellery)

The Railways Children.

Pillow Talk.

Seven Brides For Seven Brothers.

Snow White.

Mary Poppins.

Top Hat

Dr. Zhivago.

Breakfast At Tiffanys.

White Christmas.

Gone With The Wind.

My Fair Lady.

This one was in the entrance and was The Emerald City.

I think I only got photos of half the arrangements.  When you first walked into the church the scent was lovely.

We headed back to the refreshment tent for coffee and a lovely fruit scone.  It was so nice sitting out that we ended up having another drink, chatting and watching the world go by.

Hope you have a lovely day.
