WOYWW 5th August

Here is my WOYWW (What's On Your Workbench Wednesday).  If you want to know more about this weekly event, take a look at Julia's blog http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk

Not much happening on my desk, except for my new Spectrum Noir pens.  I've used Whispers and Le Plumes before, but as they were all coming to the end of their life, I looked around and as Spectrum Noir have good reviews and they were on offer, I got them.

A card waiting to be made up.

Happy WOYWW.

  1. I like the look of your new pens! I got two Colouring for Adults books for my birthday and one thing I found with my Inktense pencils and felt tips is there's not enough variety in th green tones. I think I'll have to get my watercolour paints out and mix my own!
And yes, I am thinking of making that case shown in the pic....sometime...... :-)

  6. LLJ, I have three things against the pens. One is even the smaller nib isn't small, two they are so inky they smudge easily and three the colours on the ends of the pens are nothing like the colours when they are on paper. I have some Staedtler pens and they have a very fine nib, so can use them. As to them being so inky, not sure what I can do about that. I will have to do a colour chart that I can refer to when choosing pens by colour.

    Robyn, Thank you.

Catherine, I did look at the Promarkers, but they looked too thick for me.

Barb, I am part way through doing an elephant. Will put it in a future WOYWW.

    Charlie, Thanks for stopping by.

  8. Ooh, one in ever colour :) I like the way you think Sue!
Just read your reply to LLJ - I know promarkers have an extra tip you clip over the nib to give you an even finer line. It might be something Spectrum Noir do too... worth looking in to

  10. Ah - such a clean workspace with some lovely new goodies just waiting to play. Are these the SN pens or the acquas? I'm seeing lots of use with the acquas, but since I just got the Zig brush markers, think I'll wait a bit before getting the SN acquas. My SN pens came from one of our big box stores, and since I learned on copics, the nibs feel very dry & hard to me...harder for me to blend. I've trying putting reinker in, but it doesn't help. I did get a complimentary SN pen with an order - one of the newer style, and it doesn't feel as dry as my first ones. I'm guessing these were shelved too long and dried out before purchase. Yet, adding reinker to a couple didn't seem to help the 'feel'. Be interested to hear your review. TFS
