Here's my desk.  The two plastic baskets had Christmas cards in them waiting to be written in and envelopes addressed (actually all done now).

Here are three cards  I made for a Swap where the theme was baubles.  There is only one of the first one, but the other two I made several the same.  The finished cards actually had a shiny gem covering the hole in the silver baubles.

Is It Just Me?

Is it just me, or do other Greyhound owners buy Greyhound things?

I couldn't resist these mugs and have my eye on two more.

I also have Greyhound pictures on my walls, a scarf with Greyhounds on it and some other bits and bobs.

Before I got the Greyhound bug, I had a LabX and then a Jack Russell, but apart from photos of them, I don't have anything relating to their breeds.

Maybe it's just a Greyhound thing.

Now go and hug your hound/s.

Used Postal Stamps for The Retired Greyhound Trust

Collecting Used Stamps

Fundraising has never been so easy!

Recycling your used stamps is one of the easiest ways to support RGT. It only takes a few minutes to tear your stamps off the envelope, pop them in an envelope or jiffy bag (or if you're a super collector, a cardboard box!) and send them to us at: RGT Stamp Appeal, Park House, Park Terrace, Worcester Park, KT4 7JZ.
Every kilogram of stamps that we collect can then be sold in aid of RGT and this helps us raise hundreds of pounds to support our hounds each year. Our goal is £1,500 a year which is the equivalent cost of kennelling one greyhound for 365 days.
We collect all stamps (providing they are undamaged) from normal 1st and 2nd class UK stamps to foreign, special edition and first day covers, so please don't bin them - send them our way instead and help make a difference to the lives of retired racing greyhounds.
Please make sure you pay the correct postage on your parcel as, if postage is underpaid, we have to pay a surcharge which is sometimes more than the value of your stamps!

Best Thing On A Rainy Day Is To............

The best thing to do on a rainy day is to snooze.

Here's Honey.

Here's Polly.

Yesterday I got a couple of dog blankets out and covered the girls whilst they were in their beds.  I have the heating on, but both girls had been curling up and tucking their nose under them, so I thought they'd be cosier with a blanket.  Well neither moved for some time, so they were a hit.

Don't forget to hug your hound/s.

We Need Our Beauty Sleep

My girls like most Greyhounds sleep an average of 16 hours a day.

In my living room they have two huge rigid dog beds, with  two slightly smaller rigid dog beds in the bedroom.   All the beds have memory foam pads.  Said pads have cool cotton covers in the warmer months and soft warm covers in the colder months, with even a nice fleece blanket thrown in.  When really cold SnuggleSafes  (look like thick Frisbees, but you warm them up in the microwave and they stay warm till the morning) are also put into the beds at night.

In my living room there is also a single thick duvet folded and put into a zip cover, which both girls take turns at using it.

They must be getting enough beauty sleep, as I think they are beautiful , but I may be biased:) LOL

Don't forget to hug your hound/s.

Malcolm The Mallard

Well the girls got a new toy this week.  A Mallard.  We decided he looked like a Malcolm.  He didn't have a squeaker, but had stuffing that made a crinkling sound.  Honey took to him immediately and was quite disgusted when Polly started to play with him as well.

Here's Honey with Malcolm.  I did not stage these two photos, she really was cuddling him.

Sadly when I got back yesterday morning from a catch up with my friend Hilary, I found a scene that wouldn't have looked amiss on one of the CSI programmes.

Alas poor Malcolm he lives no more, as I found his guts all over the floor (should have taken a photo).  I questioned the girls asking 'Who did this?'  They were both quick to insist that they were not to blame.  Then they tried to explain.

Apparently, Malcolm had said he wasn't feeling well, so Honey had given him a good maul cuddle.  He then burped and exploded.  Well I doubted this explanation but their faces were blank,  I think they could have got an Oscar for their performance.

A needle and thread will put Malcolm right, although I think he may suffer the same fate several more times before he will end up being gutless.

Don't forget to hug your hound/s.
