Sleepy Girls

Well as you can see from previous photos on my blog and the ones below, my girls love to snuggle in their beds.  They don't mind which one they get in and often bed hop.

Honey cuddling Rudi.

Honey fast asleep, even though her eyes are open.

Polly hiding from the horrid wet day outside.

Wait a minute, is that really one of my girls out of a bed?  Don't worry Polly soon went into the bed.

Now go and hug your hound/s.

All I have this week is a card I made for a friend.  The background paper is from a page of my Zen colouring book.  It's fun to colour the pages and even better when they can be used like this.

Changes To For Some Followers

Blogger News:  Here is some news which I copied from another Blog.  Here's the announcement they made on Blogger Buzz:In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

Honey's Dental Op 6th January

Honey looks a little worse for wear, but it's not because she'd been celebrating early for her first gotcha day, but she had to have her teeth descaled and polished.  Didn't know whether she'd need any out, but luckily she didn't.

She went in at 9am and I collected her at 3pm.  She was very wobbly and obviously still had the effects of the anaesthetic.  I've never had a dog still that much affected and even when she was spayed she wasn't like that.  Anyway, we got home and at their usual dinner time she ate half the can of the food the vet supplied without any of her complete dry food.

In the evening she was giving out a low whine, but I think it was probably because she was hungry.  Then as the anaesthetic wore off she began to cough.  They had warned me she might as she had a tube down her throat, but again none of my dogs have ever coughed before.

I decided to sleep in my reclining chair in my living room, so she could stay in the big dog bed.

The next morning (7th January) she had lovely bright eyes and was definitely back to herself.  She had soft food for breakfast and then had the remainder of the can from the vets with her complete dry dog food and she gobbled that down.

Must admit the vet did a fantastic job of her teeth, as you almost need to wear sunglasses to look at them.  Was thinking I might book myself in:)

I have now ordered some liquid stuff that you put in their water that is supposed to help keep the tartar off the teeth and control bacteria.  Also ordered a product called Dorwest Fragaria, which is a tablet that you give daily for so many weeks and it's supposed to break down the existing tartar.  Once that's come away you them give one tablet a week to help keep it away.

Despite cleaning both Honey and Polly's teeth, Polly's aren't so good either, so I think she may need something doing, but I will see what they say when she has her annual jabs.

If any of you have any tips about keeping dogs, especially Greyhound teeth in good nick I'd welcome them.

Now go and hug your hound/s.

Honey's 1st Gotcha Day (9th January, 2016)

Well I can't believe that I have had Honey for a year today (9th January).  It feels like she has always been here.

As different as Polly was to Song, she is different from Polly.  She loves to play with the squeakies, even when they don't squeak anymore and has endless mad moments.

She is very loving and often plonks her front half on me and will happily stay there until she has relaxed so much her back legs sag.

I am so lucky she found Polly and I.
